Gout, What is it Good For?



Absolutely nothing! I have no idea how I am going to stumble through work today.

Sorry to hear this. I just read something about a new medicine for gout. Hold on, I'm going looking...

Here it is:

Recently, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved ULORIC(R) (febuxostat) 40-mg and 80-mg tablets, a once-daily oral medication for the chronic management of hyperuricemia in patients with gout.

I like that better. Genius. I read somewhere that it's a disease of gluttons. What is hyperuricemia?
